TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection gets first major update, here are the full patch notes

Digital Eclipse teased a new update for their excellent TMNT build, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, yesterday. And today, in a live stream, the developer shared some of the major details that are part of the game’s first major update, including a new home icon (Thank you, Gematsu!).

The game’s first update is available to download right now on Switch, and the other big headline is that online multiplayer has been added to turtles in time (SNES). Radical! Now you can play one of the best TMNT games of all time online with friends!

Update, December 21, 2022

new additions

  • Start menu icon changed to box art. ( Switch [12,757 articles]”>Change)
  • The PlayStation 4 arcade controller is now supported. PlayStation 4 (PlayStation 5) joystick support has now been implemented.
  • Xbox arcade stick is now supported. Xbox (Xbox) joystick support has now been implemented.
  • When creating an online lobby, the player can now set the size of the lobby for both arcade games. The host can limit it to two, three or four players.
  • When creating an online lobby, the player can now set the frame delay to “Automatic”. When this is set, the input lag is adjusted based on the number of players.
  • A new enhancement added to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament of Fighters. Ultimate-Attacks can now be enabled in Story Mode ON/OFF.
  • A new enhancement added to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters. “Group Mode” can now be turned on/off. (Only available in the Japanese version.)
  • A new enhancement added to the JP/NA arcade version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The number of lives per coin can be adjusted from one to five.
  • A new enhancement added to the NA arcade release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. The number of lives per coin can be adjusted from 1 to 8.
  • A new enhancement added to the JP/NA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade. The difficulty can be adjusted.
  • A new enhancement added to the NA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time arcade. The difficulty can be adjusted.
  • A new enhancement added to the NA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time arcade. Game Loop can now be turned on/off. While activated, the game will restart from the beginning after the credits.
  • Added new button action to “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (JP/NA Arcade)”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (NA Arcade)”. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Hyperstone Heist.” Players can now assign a button to “Special”. This button presses “Attack” and “Jump” together to make it easier to perform special attacks.
  • A new color enhancement added to all Game Boy games. Added Game Boy ON/OFF color mode. Added a new “Color Palette” option to the pause menu for all Game Boy games. In addition to other filters, players can choose from four color palettes:
    1. In black and white
    2. green boy game
    3. gameboy green pocket
    4. gameboy light blue
  • Audio for various games and the main menu adjusted.
  • Added additional pages for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters NES and Genesis to the Strategy Guide.
  • Additional page for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Hyperstone Heist for Genesis added to Strategy Guide.
  • Visual settings are saved per game.

fixed issues

  • Fixed the German translation of “Hit Repeatedly” on page 11 of the Strategy Guide.
  • In the music player, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show cassette tape icon now displays the correct icon.
  • On page 5 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Strategy Guide. Turtle Tip 3 screenshot has been replaced.
  • In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, Stage Select enhancements now work even after changing the settings in Options.
  • In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Hyperstone Heist, Stage Select buffs now work when two players are selected.
  • Improved easy menu navigation for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project Now work.
  • Extra Credits enhancements for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters now work.
  • The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time manual in the museum now includes missing pages 18-19.
