Philadelphia Eagles lead NFL with 8 selections for new Pro Bowl Games
The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL at 13-1. Now they also lead the NFL in invites to the Pro Bowl Games.
Eight Eagles players — quarterback jalen hurtsthe wide receiver aj brownoffensive linemen Landon Dickerson, lane johnson Y jason kelceedge haason reddickrunning backwards miles sanders and corner dario kill — all made the NFC team on Wednesday.
Five other teams are sending at least five players. Seven members of the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs were invited. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers are each represented by six players, while the Minnesota Vikings had five players.
Pro Bowl teams are determined by combining the votes of three groups: fans, players, and coaches. miami dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa received the most fan votes, followed by Dolphins catcher Tyreek Hillchiefs quarterback patrick mahomesvikings catcher justin jefferson and the tight end for the Chiefs travis kelce. The five formed their respective teams.
Teams from the NFC and AFC will be in for a rebranded week of activities, now known as the Pro Bowl Games. The NFL announced in September that it would no longer play a conventional football game at the Pro Bowl, instead opting for a series of events that will include multi-skill competitions and a flag football game.
The previous format, dating back to 1951, had been under scrutiny for over a decade as players became increasingly reluctant to submit to the physical beatings that come during standard games.
Pro Bowl Games week will take place in Las Vegas, with the flag football game scheduled for February 5. Peyton Manning has been named head coach of the AFC, and his brother Eli Manning is the head coach of the NFC. Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions will be involved in programming and promoting the event.
