Karim Benzema SNUBS France suggests he is “not interested” in returning for the World Cup final

Karim Benzema has extinguished any rumors that he could return to the French national team ahead of their decisive World Cup final match against Argentina on Sunday.

Sportsmail reported yesterday that the Real Madrid striker was outraged by the way Didier Deschamps had treated him, sending the 34-year-old home after picking up a thigh injury during France’s first training session in Doha.

The French striker is now over that problem and many rumors have been circulating that he could be called up to help Les Bleus become only the third team in history to win back-to-back World Cup titles.

Karim Benzema has admitted that he has no interest in returning to France for the World Cup final.

But Benzema has debunked those claims, posting a very unimpressed selfie on Instagram with a caption that read: “Not interested.”

Rumors were circulating that Benzema could have made a heroic comeback from injury to help the virus-stricken French team defeat Argentina.

Despite flying home from Qatar, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner is still registered as a member of the Les Bleus squad and was given the green light by Real Madrid to return to Qatar.

It is reported that Didier Deschamps had told the striker to leave the French camp.

Since suffering the soft tissue injury, the center forward has made a rapid recovery, featuring for Real Madrid 1-1 friendly against Leganés earlier this week, and there was a chance he could rejoin his compatriots against Argentina.

But the relationship between him and Deschamps seems to have deteriorated, after the coach forced him to leave the camp.

The French coach had seen the 2018 World Cup winner struggling with thigh discomfort and said: ‘What a pity, Karim, that you have to go.’

Emmanuel Macron had also invited Benzema among other players to attend the final

France will now face a tough opponent in Argentina, led by seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, but it is clear that Benzema will now be missing from the match.

While France suffered injuries during the tournament, things took a turn for the worse for Les Bleus after a virus infiltrated their camp, sickening several key players.

Meanwhile, in a bizarre chain of events, Benzema might as well have attended the final not as a player, but as a guest of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Macron had invited him along with Paul Pogba and other injured stars to watch the final from the stands.
