Best Street Fighter 6 Characters in the Top 100 Ranked Players of the Second Beta

As we sadly near the end of Street Fighter 6 beta 2those who managed to participate leave with special memories of this rare occasion, while others continue to work as if there was literally no tomorrow.

as we did in the end of the first closed beta testWe took a look at the top 100 players in the SF6 online rankings this weekend and found out which characters ended up using the most out of the limited cast.

Since there are still the same 8 fighters available this time around, it’s pretty easy to make comparisons as to which of them was most likely to hit the highest Diamond and Master rankings in just a few days.

One notable change from the start is that Ryu certainly isn’t the most common high-ranking character like he was last time around with his numbers dropping in half from 22 to 11.

Ken’s power, however, only seemingly grew with the red Shoto filling the most spots at 22, meaning nearly a quarter of the top-ranked players kept it.

It’s not hard to see why with his familiarity with the series as Ryu, while also having a ton of different ways to rack up big damage.

The community seems to have realized how strong Guile is in these betas, considering he’s the character that saw the biggest jump in terms of results, going from just 9 to 15.

• Ken – 22

• Kimberley – 18

• Cunning – 15

• Luke – 13

• Ryu – 11

• James – 7

• Juri – 7

• Chun Li – 7

That’s also even more apparent when looking at just the top 20 players, where 6 of them ended up being huge Sonic Booms fans.

Although she doesn’t seem to be as popular with the lower ranks, Kimberly is once again up there with the best and is doing better now.

Since a character would need to have at least 13 players in the top 100 to perform better than the statistical average, that means players Ken, Kimberly, Guile, and Luke all had a good weekend.

Unfortunately, it also means that Ryu, Jamie, Juri and Chun-Li all underperformed a bit with the top 3 dropping from the first beta.

This is not to say outright that the top half of characters are inherently better or stronger than the bottom 4 due to all the variable factors that go into players reaching those heights, especially the time invested.

However, the ranks show a correlation in terms of beta characters with which strong players find fast and consistent results within 3 days.

And unlike Street Fighter 5, the CFN Rankings for SF6 have separate league points for each character a player uses, making it easier to see which picks work best for them.

• Cunning – 6

• Ken – 5

• Kimberley – 4

• Jamie – 2

• Luke – 2

• Ryu – 1

Note that Chun-Li and Juri did not play each other in the top 20.

No doubt Capcom will continue to tweak game balance in SF6 right up until launch and at least some decisions will be affected by these beta results, but there’s more going on beyond ranges.

At the time of reporting around 5:30pm PST, a user under the name DiegoV_41 is the world’s highest ranked player for the SF6 beta, amassing over 27,000 LP with Ken being one of the few ranked users. Master.

The rest of the top 100 had to reach at least 21,800 LP and Diamond Rank 3 with flags from around the world.

Looking at those who got results this time around, you’ll probably notice some familiar faces like Graham Wolfe, ISDD, DaFeetLee, and even our own Velociraptor impersonating Jamie.

There are still a few hours until these numbers change, so I’m sure there will be a battle for top ranks to come.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will be in cabinets in the farthest corners trying out combos and setups we’ll probably never get to use right now.
