Since the winter season has arrived in the United States, people are finding it quite difficult to cope with the brutal and icy winter waves. But conditions had deteriorated in western New York when a severe snowstorm with fierce winds hit the region just before Christmas week. The blizzard has taken a massive toll on the city of Buffalo, as at least 10 people were reported dead following weather-related issues on Sunday. Several clips revealing the tragic scenes in the snow-covered city of Buffalo have been shared on social media.

WeatherNation shared a drone video depicting the tragic situation throughout Buffalo on its official Twitter. It showed that the streets were covered with a white layer of snow, as were the houses. The cars parked on the side of the roads were almost hidden. The conditions have been deemed life-threatening with a maximum temperature of -6 degrees Celsius, no electricity and snowdrifts higher than vehicles. All traffic on Exit 46 of the New York State Thruway was blocked for a long time.
Residents were trapped inside their houses. The weather outside had also affected the emergency services preventing the victims from calling for help. The people were stranded because rescue personnel were unable to reach them as the firestorm was in full swing. To deal with the situation, the Buffalo area received an additional 200 members of the National Guard. However, according to the latest reports, the cold wind has now started to show signs of losing strength.
The post’s caption read: “Snow accumulations are reaching SUV height in the Buffalo area as this historic blizzard gradually calms down. Some cars have been abandoned in the middle of the roads during the height of the lake effect snowstorm.”
The terrifying sight left netizens stunned. They expressed their concerns in the comments section. Some found the condition too hard to believe, as the flashes looked like scenes from a Hollywood movie.

Here are some other reactions:
A while ago I went to visit a friend in Buffalo. I took the Greyhound city bus. When I went to get off the snow bank was so high there was only 1½’ of daylight at the top and I had to climb to get off the bus.

My sister says she has lived there for 25 years and this is the worst weather she has ever seen. Emergency services are on standby and much of the roads are still closed from what I hear. This blizzard is definitely one for the history books.

There were 3 foot 50+ MPH winds last week on the So Dak Grassland and more snow and high winds this week and zero national news on it! A rancher friend of mine got stuck on his tractor while he was trying to feed his cows for 27 hours. Google Keloland News Todd County Rancher
