The shopping season is underway and the knicks, fresh off one of the best winning streaks in the league, could be potential buyers. With that in mind, here are five business goals you might consider to improve your team in the coming weeks.
Crowder requested a trade before the season and thus has not dressed once for his Phoenix Suns. So far, he’s had a solid career as a key 3-D end in multiple long playoff runs.
Those kinds of skills and experience should prove valuable to the Knicks, now in the middle of the East playoff race. After reducing their rotation, they only have Quentin Grimes Y rj barrett available to protect the biggest elite wings in the league. Crowder won’t shut anyone down, but he does provide an additional body that’s used to the Knicks’ brand of bullies and helps cover one of their weaknesses.
New York can send Phoenix some salary filler and maybe a couple of second-round picks to improve their depth, and maybe find a better option in the four backups they’ve got. obi toppin.
Another veteran winger who is used to competing long after the regular season, Bogdanovic is currently wasting away in Detroit’s tank, with many NBA teams likely calling for his services.
Bogie would add an extra shooting dimension to the Knicks, along with another wing defender. However, they should be careful not to overpay for him, as there are some intriguing substitutes to look at and the competition for him will be fierce.
Despite its recent winning streak, Orlando remains at the bottom of the league standings and could be an aggressive seller. They did a great job rehabbing Harris after injury and court issues, and now he’s shooting 44% of his 3-pointers and defending well.
Harris doesn’t bring the big wing size the Knicks lack in their rotation, but he otherwise fits very well as a tom thibodeau-type player. It shouldn’t cost much and would bring good insurance to the bench.
We need to step things up here, as the Knicks, all-star hunters since the beginning of time, are bound to be aggressive if any All-Star equivalent names are available. With Toronto recently drafting a franchise centerpiece and far exceeding expectations for its season, the team could be next to sell if things don’t turn around. One guy New York and 28 other teams will definitely call for is Anunoby.
While he has yet to take the next step toward stardom that many have been waiting for years, Anunoby is still a very valuable player, at just 25 years old and one of the best 3-yD and slightly-over ends in the league. He is averaging a career-high 18.9 points this season, getting to the free throw line more consistently while still defending effectively. His 6-foot-7, 232-pound build makes him a very athletic potential addition to the Knicks.
Unfortunately, it’s likely to cost a pack of stars for a starless return. If that’s not the case, it would be foolish for the Knicks not to pursue him, given that he fits their schedule and schemes.
Zach LaVine, or the star who wants to go out
As mentioned, insert name of disgruntled star here he’s always a target for the Knicks. In recent days, Chicago’s foibles have pushed LaVine’s name into the rumor mill.
LaVine just signed a max extension with the Bulls, but after years of missing the playoffs, his all-in moves that built last year’s first-round loser don’t seem to be paying off. If he doesn’t consider this team a true contender and doesn’t resonate with his direction, he might want out.
Despite this year’s struggles, the Knicks would go 100 percent after LaVine, who is the league’s leading scorer when healthy. He’s still just 27 years old and in 2021 he had a near-50-40-90 shooting season with 27.4 points per game.
As it should be, LaVine would be a major upgrade to the lineup. But he may not ask out, and as always, there’s another star on the way who isn’t thrilled with his current situation.
bring young whispers begin to circulate after clashes with his head coach and a disappointing start to the season for his team. These two may be the names right now, but in a week or two they could be others.
Whichever star wants to come out, the Knicks will be there, hat in hand, to welcome them with open arms. There may be nice, quiet updates available, but New York is in it for the bigwigs
