10 great games for your Nintendo Switch from 2022
2022 may have been a slow year for big AAA video game releases, but it was a great year for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo itself released a bunch of great games (including two great Pokemon titles), third-party developers ported some phenomenal RPGs, and indies released some of my sleeper hits of the year.
Yeah, it’s a bummer The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom it was pushed back to May 2023. But if you’re looking for some games to play in the meantime, here are some of my favorite Switch games of 2022.
I’m a terrible liar, but in shark card, I can pretend that I can cheat at cards. He will do the tricks in a variety of different ways: some have him look at an opponent’s hand while he pours wine, while others ask him to shuffle the cards a certain way to give his partner an advantage. All the tricks serve a story with some exciting twists and by the end of the game you will really feel like you are a card master.
Card Shark is a game set in 18th century France about cheating at cards.
My colleague Andrew Webster wrote that indie game. neon white “turns you into a demon hunting speedrunner”, and I don’t think I can give a more concise description. In neon white, you will run through well-designed levels with the help of cards that grant you special moves and attack powers. I understand if that doesn’t make a lot of sense at first glance, but trust me when I say that it works; I would frequently fall into a state of flow as I tried to shave seconds off my times. Take all of that with a ridiculous story told largely in visual novel form and you’ve got, as creative director Ben Esposito told me, “the most video game you can get.”
Neon White is a first-person shooter from developer Angel Matrix and publisher Annapurna Interactive.
Nier: Automata Thirst’s End Edition
Nier: Automata Change port, subtitles The End of Yorha Edition, is a great way to play the strange but satisfying action RPG. First released in 2017, this Switch port brings the game to a handheld console and, from the few hours I played, very few previous versions. The graphics aren’t as good as those on other platforms, but the widely varied gameplay styles, deep story, and haunting music are all there.

The best thing about nintendo switch sports is that he has another bowling game made by Nintendo. Like the versions I played wii sports Y wii sports complex, it’s an excellent approximation of reality, and this new version of Switch even includes an incredible battle royale-style multiplayer mode. If bowling isn’t your thing, nintendo switch sports it also includes soccer, volleyball, tennis, badminton, chambara and, as part of a recent update, golf.

Persona 5 RoyalOne of the greatest RPGs of all time, it finally came to Nintendo Switch this year, and in the nine or so hours I’ve played it, it seems like everything that made the game great on PlayStation is intact. The game is packed with charming characters, awesome dungeons, and amazing music, and while the game doesn’t look as good as it does on other platforms, I think the luxury of playing it on a portable device makes up for some occasional hiccups. visuals And if you’re looking for a game to really immerse yourself in, Persona 5 Royal should get you off the hook; my original game took over 100 hours.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus it actually made me want to catch them all. An offshoot of the main Pokemon series, arceus it rethinks many of the mechanics that have remained largely unchanged since the beginning of the series. Catching Pokemon got a huge upgrade: I found myself constantly sneaking up on unsuspecting ‘mons’ and throwing out a Pokéball, only to turn around and try to catch another one moments later. There are many other changes that make arceus different from typical Pokemon games, and many of them are for the better.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus Mix up the Pokémon formula in refreshing ways.
Scarlet Pokemon Y pokemon purple
Scarlet Pokemon Y pokemon purple introduce a vast open world to the main line Pokemon titles, and I didn’t get tired when I played Scarlet for me last month. I loved exploring the continent of Paldea to catch Pokémon and completing the game’s three main stories at my own pace. And unlike most Pokemon games, the game’s final act was the best: instead of a merciless stomp through the Elite Four, you’ll explore an exciting and mysterious new area with secrets I won’t reveal here.
Pokémon Scarlet features a large open world and a ton of new Pokémon.

rogue legacy 2 is a delightful 2D standalone roguelite that lets you play as vastly different characters that might have some annoying flaws. In addition to standard classes like knights and wizards and less traditional ones like pirates, boxers, and even chefs, you’ll often have to choose between one of the many negative features (like hard-to-see enemies) that offer some sort of bonus. , which means that each execution is a balancing act between risk and reward. The games recent release of Nintendo Switch it also includes the big legendary heroes updatewhich adds new weapons, options, bug fixes and more.

splatoon 3 doesn’t do much to change the splatoon formula, but I would say that’s a good thing. Competing to paint the most terrain in Turf War is still exciting. Thanks to the new clothes you can buy, you’ll look fresh doing it. The soundtrack is absolutely great, so you’ll be playing the entire time you play. And the game has already received a fresh batch of new content since it launched in September. See you on the battlefield.
