Domino Kirke Pays Tribute to Bonus Parents with 'Stepchild', Reflects on Pregnancy: 'I Wear the Feeling of Twins' (Exclusive)
Domino Kirke is paying tribute to the beautiful ways families take shape.
With her latest single "Stepchild," the singer/songwriter and doula — who is currently expecting twins with Penn Badgley, with whom she also shares a son, and is also mom to son Cassius from a previous relationship — pens a "love letter" to her husband, 38, and to all of the bonus parents that take on these roles.
"I think there's a lot of stigma around a stepparent," says Kirke, 41, over Zoom from Brooklyn, N.Y. "I do feel like it's a common enough story in the families I work with where there's blending."
"You caught us on the flip side / Somersaulted into our space / We sat you at the head of our table / But all I could do was eat your face," Kirke croons on the track.
